Two arrested after police pursuit near the Capitol Centre

Two men were arrested after a dramatic police pursuit near the Capitol Centre.

Police pursued the occupants of the van who were later arrested

Police stopped a white LDV van in London Road, Walton-le-Dale at around 10.20pm on Wednesday, 1 March.

Two men made off from the vehicle and officers pursued the men on foot, say police.

The men were later captured and detained by police.

A police spokesman said: "An 18-year-old man from Accrington was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and a 19-year-old man from Accrington was arrested on suspicion of theft."

Both men are currently in custody.
