Two arrested after fleeing scene of crash in Darwen

Two men have been arrested after fleeing the scene of a serious crash in Darwen.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, at the junction of Pot House Lane and Roman Road, at around 7.30pm last night (Monday, April 6).

An image captured by a police drone team shows the scene of the crash, where an overturned car appears to have struck the garden wall of a home.

Lancashire Police said two men had been detained following the crash.

North West Ambulance Service attended the scene, along with Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

A fire service spokesman said: "We were called at 7.38pm and we sent two fire engines from Darwen. They made the scene safe and were at the scene for approximately 15 minutes."

No serious injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police Tac Ops said: "TacOps Drone Team assisting Blackburn police with reports of two making off from an overturned vehicle in the Darwen area.

"Happy to report two detained and on their way to custody to be dealt with."
