Three under arrest in Preston after man suffers 'serious' injury to his foot

Three men have been arrested in Preston after a man suffered a serious foot injury in the street in the early hours of today.

Police say they were called to the Royal Preston Hospital at around 4:40am after a man in his twenties arrived at the Accident and Emergency department.

It is thought the injury was sustained outside a house in The Paddock in Fulwood, close to Preston's College.

Officers taped off an area of the road and were still at the scene this afternoon.

Three men, aged 28, 26 and 20 were detained and are still said to be in custody.

A police statement said the injured man's condition was "serious but stable."

"It is unclear at this stage how the man sustained his injury and work is ongoing to establish exactly how it was caused.

"Three men aged 28, 26 and 20, and all from Preston, have been arrested on suspicion of GBH. All three remain in custody."
