Three arrested after huge cannabis farm worth more than £1million is uncovered in Preston

Three men have been arrested after a cannabis farm worth more than £1million has been uncovered at an industrial site in Preston.

Police discovered more than 3,500 cannabis plans growing inside a large industrial unit off Brook Street during a raid this morning (August 11).

Officers with the Preston Neighbourhood Policing Team were tipped off by the local community and found the illegal set up hidden behind a secret dividing wall at the site.

Gaining entry through a small secluded hatch, officers discovered what they have described as "a substantial cannabis cultivation".

Police said the grow consisted of nine rooms and over 3,500 cannabis plants of varying sizes, with a street value exceeding one million pounds.

Lancashire Police said three men have been arrested and charged in connection with the cannabis farm.

Sgt John Lovick, of Preston Police said: "This was a substantial find which was a direct result of intelligence provided by the community and we are grateful for the information.

"We will continue to act on concerns and information provided by the public and anyone who wants to report anything to us can contact us on 101 or online."
