Thieves who stole £26,500 worth of plant equipment from yard caught by tracker

Thieves hitched up £26,500 worth of plant equipment and drove it out of a yard at Garstang.

But the duo reckoned without a tracker device on the digger and trailer they took, which enabled police to apprehend them soon afterwards.

Michael Brade, 41, of Charnley Road, Blackpool, and Jarrard Jacklin, 21, of Mount Avenue, Lancaster, pleaded guilty to theft.

Jacklin also pleaded guilty to driving a Mitsubishi Shogun while disqualified and without insurance.

The defendants were sent for sentence at Preston Crown Court on April 13 by District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Jacklin was remanded.
