Teenage boy arrested for suspected terrorism offences after house searched in Fulwood

A 16-year-old boy, from Fulwood, was arrested yesterday, November 5, by police after his family home was searched by officers from the Counter Terrorism Policing North West team.

The teenager was arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 200, which relates to being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

Two police cars were seen parked up along Janice Drive and adjoining Conway Drive, in Fulwood this morning.

Counter Terrorism Policing North West executed a search warrant at the address and subsequently arrested the 16-year-old.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Yesterday, November 5, officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West executed a search warrant at an address in Preston and have arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of terrorism offences.

"He remains in police custody for questioning and enquiries are ongoing.

"At this time there is not believed to be any immediate threat to the wider community."
