A former teaching assistant has pleaded guilty to inciting sexual activity with a child.

Andrew Tetley, of Lowther Crescent, Leyland, who worked at a secondary school in the county, admitted an offence relating to a teenage girl.

The victim cannot be identified for legal reasons.

The 28-year-old admitted one offence at Preston Crown Court.

He entered not guilty pleas to four other alleged sexual offences regarding the same girl, which was accepted by the Crown.

He will be sentenced for the charge he admits on January 20.

A spokesman for Lancashire County Council previously said as soon as allegations came to light, he was suspended from his job immediately.

Tetley had been on a temporary contract which expired on August 31 and does not work at the school anymore.
