A shoplifter who struck nine times in the Chorley area between August and October has pleaded guilty to a string of thefts.

Vanda Evans, now of Longfield Road, Bolton, stole toiletries and meat worth hundreds of pounds in a theft spate, Preston magistrates heard.

The 27-year-old struck repeatedly at Tesco Express, the Co-op, in Adlington, and the Mercury Service station in nearby Westhoughton.

She will be sentenced at Bolton Magistrates’ Court on January 6.

She has been granted conditional bail not to enter certain shops.
