Search underway after 15-year-old girl goes missing in Lancashire

Police say they are growing concerned for the welfare of a missing girl after she failed to return home.

Ellie Paul from Blackburn left her home in the Livesey area of Blackburn at around 1.30pm yesterday (August 20).

The 15-year-old was due to return home at 10pm but has not been seen or heard from since.

Ellie is white with long, blonde hair, 5ft 5in tall and of slim build.

She was last seen wearing an Adidas jacket and yellow shorts.

As well as Blackburn, Ellie also has links to Accrington and Manchester.

Lancashire Police have now launched an urgent search for the missing teenager and are appealing for help from the public.

PC Karl Dixon of Lancashire Police said: "We are concerned for Ellie’s welfare given her age and the fact that she hasn’t returned home when she was supposed to.

"I would ask if anyone sees Ellie or has any information on her whereabouts to please contact police.

"I would also appeal to Ellie to please get in touch with us if she sees this appeal and let us know she is OK."
