Police are looking for two teenagers following a report of racist abuse on a bus in Preston.

The incident, which happened on board the Preston Bus 6A Gamull Lane service, was reported to have happened at around 9pm on August 2.

A police spokesman said: "Two teenagers are reported to have made racist comments to a girl on a bus.

"We are hoping to receive some CCTV footage from the bus company shortly."

A spokesman for Preston Bus said: "We are aware of the allegation of racist abuse and are helping police with their enquiries.

"These kinds of incidents are very rare on our buses - this is the first one that I've been made aware of in two years.

"It's in our interests to make sure our passengers feel safe when traveling with us and we are assisting the police with their investigation.

"We will always do our best to help our passengers and any incidents like this should be reported to us or the police."
