Robbers tied up pensioner and threatened her with a hammer

A pensioner was tied up and threatened with a hammer and chisel in a horrifying robbery in her own home.

Two men broke in to the home in Brindle, near Chorley and tied up a woman in her 70s and another woman in her 20s who lived there.

They then threatened them with a hammer and chisel before making off with money, jewellery, mobile phones and a vehicle.

It is believed they left the address in Sandy Lane in the stolen vehicle – a white Peugeot 208. They travelled along Hill House Lane in the direction of Gregson Lane.

The property, including the vehicle, remains outstanding.

DC Laura Thornley of Chorley Police, said: “This was a truly terrifying ordeal for the women involved and we remain committed to finding those responsible.

“Following extensive enquiries, we would like to identify the men in the CCTV footage and speak to them as part of our investigation. Do you know who they are? Please contact us.”
