A man who resisted a police officer during an incident in Preston in November has been jailed for a total of 15 weeks.

Preston Magistrates court heard Paul Browning, of Creswell Avenue, Ingol, Preston, had a long record of previous offending.

The 44-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge and was ordered to pay £400 compensation to his victim, as well as an £80 victim surcharge.

The bench jailed him for three weeks but imposed a further 12 weeks consecutively because he was in breach of another court order made the day before the incident at he same court for an assault that happened three weeks earlier.
