Dominic Francis Battinello, of Ainsdale Drive, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, pleaded guilty to charges of causing a man to fear violence would be used against him, assaulting the same victim, and two counts of criminal damage.

During a hearing before Preston Magistrates’ Court, the bench was told the first three incidents happened on February 17 last year.

Jailing him for 16 weeks, the court ruled a custodial term, was necessary because of his record of previous offending.

Battinello was also ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge, but no compensation was ordered because of his limited means.
