Preston murder accused appear in court over death of neighbour Adam Le Roi

Two men accused of murdering their neighbour at a block of flats have appeared in the dock at Preston Magistrates' Court.

Adam Le Roi, 25, was stabbed in the chest at Kayley House on New Hall Lane in Preston on Sunday, November 15.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2.20am, but he died in the Royal Preston Hospital.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of his death was multiple stab wounds.

Connor Rumble, 25, and Grant Gardner, 24, who also live at Kayley House, are accused of his murder.

Rumble, wearing a grey jumper and white face mask, appeared separately to his co-defendant due to distancing guidelines.

He was asked to pull down his mask to confirm his full name to the court, before the case was committed to Preston Crown Court,

The clerk informed him the court had no powers to deal with a bail application and he was remanded in custody until his appearance at the higher court on Wednesday.

The dock was cleaned before Gardner, sporting a black eye, was brought in by two guards.

Gardner's case was also committed to the Crown Court.
