Preston man suspected of stealing £1,000 and precious heirlooms from pensioner

A man from Preston is wanted by police after a pensioner was burgled in Fullwood.

Wayne Collins is wanted in connection with the burglary at the home of a woman in her eighties in Sharoe Green Lane, Preston on Tuesday November 7.

The 24-year-old is suspected of stealing £1,200 cash, as well as a laptop, handheld vacuum and two silver goblets that had been in the woman’s family for generations.

Sgt Scott Archer from Preston Police said: “We are actively searching for Collins and it’s only a matter of time before we find him.

“If you have seen him or know where he is, please call us immediately. Please do not approach him.

“My message to Wayne himself would be to do the decent thing and attend a police station so we can speak to him.”

Collins is described as white, around 5ft 9inches, of slim build with blue eyes.

According to police, he has links to the Deepdale, Fulwood and city centre areas of Preston.
