Preston man sentenced to five years in prison wanted after failing to appear at court

A Preston man was sentenced to five and a half years in prison for handling stolen goods.

Police have appealed for help in tracing Mohammed Saleem Khan, who failed to appear at the hearing at Preston Crown Court today.

Khan, 47, is also wanted in connection with offences of assault, threats to kill and engaging in coercive behaviour.

He is 6ft tall, with a medium build, dark, greying hair and a receding hairline.

He has links to the Preston, Nelson and Burnley areas.

DC Jane Thomas, of Lancashire police, said: “Khan is wanted by police in connection with several serious offences. If you see Khan, please do not approach him. Instead call police providing a description of his clothing.

“Furthermore, I would urge Khan to come forward and speak with police as soon as possible. I would also remind anyone helping Khan that it is an offence to assist an offender.”
