Preston man due to stand trial for murder of his 88-year-old mother

The trial is due to begin today of a Preston man accused of murdering his mother.

John Green, 65, is set to stand trial for the murder of his 88-year-old mother Bernadette.

Bernadette was found dead at the home the pair shared in Inkerman Street, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, on May 18 this year.

He has denied murder and the trial is scheduled to begin this morning at Preston Crown Court.
