Preston man charged in gun probe

A Preston man is the ninth person charged in a probe into a gun being fired in a residential Lancashire street.

Police carried out two days of raids after an incident in December at Kempton Rise, Blackburn,

Andrew Leigh, 25, of Old Lancaster Lane, is accused of conspiracy to commit violent disorder and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.

Five Preston men - Uwais Bagas, 24, of Watling Street Road, Faizal Ghani, 28, of Albert Terrace, Mohammed Mussa, 23, of Garstang Road, Sohail Patel, 32, of Blackpool Road, and Syed Razvi, 34, of Ashworth Grove - appeared before magistrates on Thursday, with the case sent to the Crown Court.

Three are bailed until June 26.
