Preston bike thefts: Man caught on camera breaking into Ashton home

A suspected bike thief has been caught on camera breaking into a garage in Ashton.

The man, captured on the home's security camera, can be seen forcing open a garage door and stealing two bikes.

The home in Seymour Road, Ashton-on-Ribble, was broken into at 1.20am on Wednesday October 31 and is one of a number of properties targeted in the area.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "We want to speak to the man in the CCTV in connection with a burglary at a property in Ashton-on-Ribble early on Halloween, Wednesday, 31 October.

"At around 1.20am, an offender approached a house on Seymour Road. They forced the side door of the garage and stole two bikes, one a Carrera Cross City folding electric bike and the other a Boardman Hybrid MTX Mountain Bike.

"We know residents have been concerned about the number of burglaries in Ashton recently and we want to reassure people we are doing everything we can to tackle the problem."
