Police hunt thieves who fled dealership in £12,000 vehicle

Police believe two men who stole a £12,000 car from a Lancashire dealership fled to the Fylde coast.

Officers have issued new CCTV images in a bid to capture the two men who struck at Arnold Clark in Hartington Road, Preston on January 19 this year. The images have just been released by police.

At around 7.40pm the two men entered the dealership posing as potential customers.

While one man spoke to another member of staff another asked if it would be possible to use the toilet.

A police spokesman said: “He was directed to the rear of the garage.

“But instead of going to the toilets he entered a canteen area. There he has taken keys from a staff area. The other man has then made his excuses and left.”

The keys taken were to a black Seat Leon which the pair drove away from the dealership. The car was later was captured on CCTV heading towards Lytham.

The first offender is described as a white man in this late 30s. He is 5ft 8in and described as having thin and gaunt features.

The man had grey stubble and was wearing a blue baseball cap, a blue tracksuit top and dark navy blue bottoms.

The second man is also described as being in his late 30s. He is a similar height to the other man and police say he had a tanned complexion, glasses and was wearing a black baseball cap.
