Police hunt for knifeman after stabbing in Ribbleton

A man had to be taken to hospital after he was stabbed in Ribbleton on Tuesday (December 1).

The man, aged in his 30s, was stabbed repeatedly and suffered wounds to his head, leg and hand during the knife attack in Ribbleton Avenue.

He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by ambulance, but police say his injuries are believed to be 'minor'.

Lancashire Police said an investigation is under way to identify the knifeman, who fled the scene as his victim lay injured in the road.

A police spokesman said: "We were called around 6.05pm on Tuesday (December 1) to a report of an assault in Ribbleton Avenue, Ribbleton.

"A man in his 30s had been attacked and has suffered minor stab wounds to his leg, hand and head. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

"An investigation is underway and enquiries ongoing."
