Police are continuing to hunt for a wanted man who has links to the Preston area.

Robert Gavin, 36, absconded from HMP Kennet, Merseyside on March 23 this year and is currently wanted for recall to prison.

He is originally from Dublin and has connections to Preston and Blackpool.

Gavin was jailed for two years in June 2011 for an offence of robbery.

He is described as a white male, medium build, 5’6” tall, short dark hair with an Irish accent.

Det Sgt Simon Gray, of Blackpool Police, said: “We need to trace Gavin and return him to prison as a priority. There is the potential that he poses a risk to certain individuals that he knows, although not to wider members of the public.

“I would appeal to anyone who knows where he is or who recognises him to contact us as a matter of urgency.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number LC-20140505-1243 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
