Three suspected car thieves were hunted down with dogs after they allegedly fled from a stolen car in Penwortham, say police.
Patrols spotted the stolen black Land Rover travelling towards Hutton at around 11.30pm on April 24.
The car is said to have turned into a dead end road in the vicinity of Pope Lane where the men are alleged to have abandoned the vehicle and made off on foot.
Police say one of the men was quickly detained by police dog Kato while the other two were later tracked to the top of a roof by police dog Frankie.
A spokesman for the police said: "We spotted a stolen vehicle and began a pursuit where it turned into a dead end.
"A stinger had been authorised but was not necessary. Police dogs helped to detain three suspects."
The men were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and remain in custody this morning.
