Police hunt bag robber

Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted and robbed near to Preston Bus Station.

The 45-year-old victim was sat on a bench at a disused taxi rank on Lords Walk at 11.30pm on Sunday when she was approached by a man who attempted to steal her mobile phone before punching her in the face and stealing her bag.

The man is described as white, early twenties, with short fair hair and a slim face. He was wearing a long-sleeved sweatshirt with a white collar underneath.

DC Azam Khan said: “This was a terrifying experience for the victim, we are determined to find the person responsible and urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have seen the offender in the area at the time to contact us.”
