Police officers searching for missing pub landlord Roderick Davies have found a body.
Mr Davies, who lived in Shropshire but had connections with Preston, was last seen almost two weeks ago.
Concerns were raised when he disappeared after leaving his pub, the Butchers Arms in Willow Street, Oswestry on Friday June 19 at around 12.20am.
The disappearance of the 51-year-old, known as ‘Rodders,’ was described as out of character by police when a missing persons appeal was issued. He went missing without his wallet, phone, medication, car keys and debit cards.
Mr Davies has not yet been formally identified, but police said his family had been informed and his daughter, Rebecca Davies, wrote on social media that she could not believe he had gone. “You’re the best dad I could ask for,” she said. “I hope you’re finally at rest. I love you more than you’ll ever know. Thanks to everyone who’s asked and helped out this past week.”
