Police appealing for information after 86-year-old man dies in Preston crash

An 86-year-old man has died in Preston after a crash on St George's Road and police are appealing for information on the incident.

It happened around 5.30pm yesterday as officers were called to the junction of St Martin’s Road and St George’s Road after reports of a collision between four cars.

The man, in a Nissan Micra, is believed to have been driving on St Martin’s Road and failed to give way at the junction of St George’s Road, travelling across the junction and colliding with a Nissan Note, Audi A4 and Toyota Corolla. The vehicles were all parked and unattended.

Paramedics took the man to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment where he was later pronounced dead.

The road was closed while accident investigators attended.
