Police are appealing for witnesses after a 91-year-old man died after a car crash in Preston.

The incident happened at 12.50pm on Monday, October 12, as a Fiat car collided with a male in Ward’s End.

The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment where it was confirmed he had suffered a broken pelvis.

Following surgery he was released from hospital but readmitted and died on Saturday, December 5.

The man can now be named as Leslie Howell, of Marlhill Crescent, Preston.

Officers have launched another appeal for information following the incident and would like to speak to a driver they believe helped Mr Howell.

Sgt James Power, of Preston Road Policing, said: “The man who helped Mr Howell looked like he was in a dark coloured saloon vehicle, possibly a Vauxhall Vectra, but was not at the scene when police arrived.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log reference number 0543 of October 12.
