Plungington hit and run suspect is released on bail

A 19-year-old who was arrested after a hit and run in Plungington Road on Monday (October 26) has been bailed.

The man, from Preston, was arrested after a teenager was struck by a Volkswagen Polo whilst walking his dog near the Chapelhouse Suzuki dealership at around 10pm.

He had been taken into police custody following his arrest, where he was held on suspicion of an attempt section 18 assault (wounding with intent) and failing to stop at the scene of an injury collision.

The victim of the hit and run was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment, whilst the injured dog has had to undergo surgery to save its life.
