Plea after Preston teenager is robbed of bike

POLICE are trying to trace witnesses after a teenager was attacked and robbed of his bike.

The incident happened at around 7.30pm on Monday in Plungington Road, Preston.

The victim, a 16 year old local, was riding his bike with a friend when he was approached by a small group of youths. One of the youths knocked the victim to the floor before stealing his bike.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his head.

Det Sgt Jerry Sturgess of Preston CID said: “This appears to be a vicious and unprovoked attack and I urge anyone with any information at all please to come forward.”

A 13 year old boy from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody.
