A PERVERT who had hundreds of indecent images on his computer has been warned he faces jail.

Pensioner Eric Russell Greenall, of The Grove, Chorley, has been ordered to sign on the sex offenders register after admitting making and possessing indecent images.

Greenall, 67, also had extreme pornography on his computer when his home was raided in May last year.

Standing in the dock at Preston Crown Court he pleaded guilty to 11 counts of making indecent images of children.

Three of the images were of the most serious SAP Level five with two images at level four, two at level three and two at level one.

He also admitted a further four counts of possessing indecent images, representing almost 200 images ranging from SAP levels one to four.

He also pleaded guilty to possession of two extreme pornographic images and a charge of possessing prohibited images of children.

Further pornography was found in the raid but was not clearly criminal.

Judge Stuart Baker adjourned the sentence until Tuesday but told Greenall: “You must understand you are very much at risk of immediate imprisonment.”

Lucy Wright, defending, said: “These are issues that have been very much in the forefront of his mind for some time.

“The offences to which my client has pleaded guilty are very much aggravated by the ages of the children.

“He doesn’t hold an overly optimistic view.”

Greenall will return to Preston Crown Court on Tuesday May 20 to face sentence.
