Police teams have been carrying our extensive searches as part of a murder inquiry in Preston.
Officers combed communal land close to a home in Ashton where a 26-year-old woman was found unresponsive in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The woman was pronounced dead at Royal Preston Hospital and police have launched a murder investigation.
A 26-year-old man from Preston is in police custody on suspicion of murder.
Earlier police said paramedics were called to an address on Heywood Road at around 5.25am, when they found the 26-year-old woman.
She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police are appealing for anyone with any information that could help them to come forward.
Det Insp Richard McCutcheon from the Force Major Investigation Team (FMIT) said: “This investigation is very much in its early stages and we are trying to establish exactly what has happened to this woman.
“Her family are being supported by specially trained officers at this time.
“I am asking anyone who may have been in the area the night before, the early hours of this morning or indeed if they have any information about this incident at all, to get in touch with us at their earliest opportunity.”
A post mortem examination to establish the cause of death is due to take place.
