A mum has appeared in court accused of knifing her husband at their home.
Krystyna Lowczynowska, 57, of Havelock Road, Bamber Bridge, near Preston, was charged with wounding after an alleged incident on June 9.
Police and paramedics were called to the street by neighbours on Tuesday after her husband Andrej Lowczynowska suffered a suspected knife wound to his back.
Mrs Lowczynowska was later charged with a wounding offence. She spoke through an interpreter during her appearance at Preston Magistrates’ Court. Prosecuting, Alex Mann said: “Whilst there is no formal complaint from the victim, he has made a brief statement, not signed. He said he was concerned about his wife’s drinking and had locked the door as he didn’t want his wife to leave.” The allegation is she stabbed him with a kitchen knife as he was sitting in a chair. Police have seized a knife. The case was committed to Preston Crown Court.
