Motorcyclist suffers broken arm and fractured leg in Blackburn hit and run

A motorcyclist was "badly injured" after being knocked off his bike in a hit and run collision in Blackburn.

A 38-year-old Blackburn man suffered a broken arm and wrist, as well as a fractured leg, after he was knocked off his bike on Haslingden Old Road at around 8:35am on March 18.

The incident, which occurred close to the Britannia roundabout, involved a silver car which made off from the scene.

The motorcyclist was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but has since been discharged.

The driver of the car who made off from the scene is being sought by officers, and police are now appealing for witnesses.

PC Rosie Lovett, from Blackburn Police, said: “If you know who was driving or you witnessed the incident, please come forward and speak to us.

“I would also like to appeal to the driver directly and urge them to search their conscience.

"A man has been badly injured and so I am asking them to do the right thing and make contact with us.”
