Morecambe man threatened to kill his mum

A man who admits making threats to kill his mother has had his sentencing put off while a psychiatric report is obtained.

Scott Kaye, 34, of Charles Street, Morecambe, pleaded guilty to two counts of making threats to kill and one of criminal damage and appeared at Sessions House Court by a video link.

Defending, Julie Taylor, said: “His pre sentence report makes it quite clear that the probation service feel he was or still is suffering some sort of mental health problems.

“He says he has, whilst in custody, seen the prison doctor and been prescribed olanzapine to help with his auditory hallucinations.

Prosecuting, Geoff Whelan agreed it was a “serious matter” and that a report would assist the court.

The Honorary Recorder of Preston, Judge Robert Altham, adjourned the case until March 12.
