Police are searching for a missing sex offender who could be in Preston.

Keith Walton, 51, whose last known address was in London, was originally convicted at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court in July 2013 for a sexual assault on a woman in Manchester.

He was released from HMP Wandsworth earlier this month after he was jailed for failing to comply with sex offender notification requirements and has failed to register to his address with police following his release.

He is also wanted for a breach of his licence after failing to keep probation appointments.

Walton is thought to be in the London area, but has previously spent time in Preston.

He is described as white, 5ft 7in, of medium build, with a ruddy complexion, a full beard and dark straggly hair.

He is described as being unkempt in appearance.

DC Colin Gaskell of the dangerous and sexual offenders unit said: “Walton could be in the Preston area and we are urging anyone who may have seen him or knows where he is to contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
