Man wanted in connection with historic 'serious' sexual assault in Blackburn

A man wanted in connection with a historic 'serious' sexual assault in Blackburn could be in Leeds or Bradford.

Badr Hjaji, 29, is wanted in connection with a serious sexual assault in Blackburn.

An investigation was launched following a report a woman was sexually assaulted in December 2017.

Officers have been unable to find Hjaji but believe he could be in Leeds or Bradford.

They are urging anyone with information to come forward - and anyone who has an immediate sighting of him should call 999.

Det Sgt Steve Craig, of East CID, said: "We urgently need to speak to Badr in connection with our investigation. I would encourage anyone who knows of his whereabouts - or Badr himself – to contact police immediately."

Hjaji is described as Middle Eastern, 5ft 9in tall, of slight build, with short black hair, brown eyes and a full black beard.

Anyone with information should call Lancashire Police on 101, quoting log number 1458 of January 24, 2019.
