A woman has told a court a man she alleges raped her, after a party in Preston, also touched her at another party in the city.

The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said Grzegorz Wroblewski, 33, “fancied” her but said she did nothing to lead him to believe the feeling was mutual.

Wroblewski denies rape after the woman claims he helped her to get home after a party before he climbed into her bed while she was drunk and attacked her.

Speaking via video-link at Preston Crown Court, the woman said she had met Wroblewski at a party at a different house, several months earlier, but when she had gone to sleep in a bedroom, she woke to find Wroblewski lying behind her and touching her in a sexual way.

She told him to leave and nothing further happened that evening. Neither of them discussed what had happened.

She said: “Grzegorz is the kind of person who does not like to talk about difficult things. He is the kind of person who just denies when something is uncomfortable for him.”

The woman said Wroblewski would sometimes make suggestions to her that they could spend time alone, but the comments made her feel uncomfortable and she told him she did not want a sexual relationship with him.

On the night of the alleged rape, she told the court she was drunk and had been taken home after a party.

She said: “When I woke up at about 9am I could still feel a bit drunk, but the shock of waking up made me think of things very clearly. I could still move around. I could go and take a shower. I had like, a little break for thinking clearly.”

The woman then got up and left the house to go to a chemist. On her way, she phoned a friend and told her what had happened the night before.

The police were called and Wroblewski, of Thirlmere Road, Farringdon Park, was arrested on suspicion of rape.
