Man in court over ‘wedding GBH’

A man alleged to have glassed a fellow guest at a wedding reception has made his first appearance at court.

Brother of the bride, plasterer Matthew Hudson, faces a charge of assault causing grievous bodily harm to friend of the groom,Mark Bennett.

The incident is alleged to have taken place at the farm owned by the groom’s parents,Windtop Farm,Browns Lane, Wrea Green near Kirkham in May this year.

A marquee had been erected at the farm for the guests attending the event following the marriage of Brett and Chantelle Gregson.

Hudson of Ash Lane,Kirkham appeared before District Judge James Hatton sittijng at Blackpool Magistrates Court.

The judge said the case woulod have to be heard at Preston Crown Court where Hudson will appear on August 27. He was granted bail on condition he has no contact with his alleged victim.
