Shaun Christopher Smith, 38, of Lancaster Road North, Preston, has pleaded not guilty to entering a home on St. Stephen's Road, Preston, on January 24, but admits three counts of committing a fraud with bank cards that were stolen during that burglary, and one of trying to sell five electrical items that were stolen in the burglary at a Cash Converter's store.

Smith appeared before Judge Philip Parry at Preston Crown Court by a video link from HMP Durham.

It is understood his defence case will centre around his claim that he found the bank cards and loot from the burglary whilst walking through a park, on the way home from a friend's house.

His trial will take place on July 23.
