Man charged with murder after Oswaldtwistle man dies from 'blunt head trauma'

Police were called after a 65-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries from an address in Worsley Court on February 13.
The man, Stuart Newton, died in hospital on Friday, February 14.

Hide AdA post-mortem examination has given a cause of death of blunt head trauma.
A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with Stuart Newton’s death and has now been charged with murder.
Nathan Scott Williams, 30, of Mount Pleasant Rd, Oswaldtwistle, appeared before Preston Magistrate’s Court this morning (February 17).
He has been remanded in custody and is due at Preston Crown Court on Wednesday (19 February).

Hide AdDetective Chief Inspector Lee Wilson, of the Force Major Investigation Team, said: “My thoughts and those of my team remain with Mr Newton’s loved ones at this tragic time.
"They continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
