Man caught performing sex act on CCTV following attempted burglary in Ribbleton

A man was caught on camera exposing himself in front of a window after attempting to break into a family home in Ribbleton.

The shocking incident in Ribbleton Hall Drive was caught by a resident after she was alerted to the intruder by her CCTV camera.

She was horrified to discover the man had attempted to break into her family home after lurking into the back garden at around 11.30pm on Monday (November 9).

After failing to gain access, the man proceeded to perform an obscene act in front of a window before sneaking off into a neighbouring garden.

The victim says she was appalled when she reviewed the footage and that she hasn't been able to sleep properly in case he returned.

"I was in shock when I saw it. I let out a little nervous laugh but when I thought about it afterwards if he'd have actually got in what could've happened," she said.

"It freaked me out a little bit and I've not slept since. I've only had a few hours of sleep all week.

"It's just me and my children and I'm only a small woman so he could've done anything. To do something like that is not normal."

Police have confirmed they are continuing to investigate the incident and a 26-year-old man from Preston has been arrested.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "This has been reported to us and we are investigating.

"A 26-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and is in custody."
