Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after woman stabbed multiple times in Blackburn

A man has been arrested after a woman was airlifted to hospital after being stabbed multiple times in Blackburn.

Emergency services rushed to a property in Rolleston Road following reports a woman had been stabbed shortly before 4.05pm yesterday (Monday, October 5).

A woman was found with multiple stab wounds and was airlifted to hospital where police say she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers have now confirmed a 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police: "Officers have attended and found a woman with multiple stab wounds.

"She has been airlifted to hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

"A 25-year-old man from Blackburn has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder."

A crime scene reportedly remained in place on the street yesterday evening, with the air ambulance landing at nearby Witton Park High School.
