Man arrested in connection with multiple burglaries in Preston city centre
A man has been arrested in connection with a spate of Preston city centre burglaries after he was caught by police following another break-in.
Police were called to reports an audible security alarm had been activated at a retail premises on Fishergate early this morning (May 20).
Officers attended the scene and confirmed the premises had been broken into.
After conducting a search of the area a man was located close to the scene and was subsequently arrested.
He remains in custody and police say he will be interviewed in connection with the Fishergate break-in as well as other recent burglaries across the city centre.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "This man has been housed until later today where he'll be interviewed about this incident and other burglaries which have occurred recently in the city centre."
