Man arrested after weapons including large machete seized in Preston

A haul of weapons, including a large machete, was seized by patrols at an incident involving a large group of men in Deepdale, say police.

Immediate Response officers were called to Preston North End football stadium car park at around 7.30pm on Wednesday, June 27.

One man was arrested.

A police spokesman said in a post to social media: "Immediate Response officers attached to Team 1 at Preston have attended the area of Preston North End football stadium car park in response to calls about an incident involving a large group of males with mention of weapons.

"Some of the group have gone on to attend Sainsburys on Flintoff Way where an altercation has taken place with store staff.

"One male was arrested and several weapons including a large machete and claw hammer as pictured were recovered.

"Police at Preston would like to appeal for witnesses in relation to the above incidents."
