Man arrested after meat cleaver, heroin and crack cocaine seized from car in Burnley

A 24-year-old man has been arrested after police found a meat cleaver and class A drugs worth £680 inside a vehicle in Burnley.

Police witnessed a suspected drugs transaction in the Duke Bar area of Burnley by the occupants of a silver Peugeot on Wednesday (February 19).

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it made off from the scene.

A pursuit followed around Colne Road before the vehicle was stopped and driver detained.

Police recovered a meat cleaver, heroin and crack cocaine worth £680, cash and phones

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "A top job by several departments working together to take drugs and weapons of the streets."

The driver, Kyle Alman, 24, from Manchester has since been charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs, dangerous driving and possession of a bladed article.
