A man accused of assaulting a woman, damaging a glass door panel and failing to surrender to bail was given a six month conditional discharge by magistrates.

Brendan Paul Kieron Lancaster, 28, of Norton Road, Heysham pleaded guilty to all three charges when he appeared in court at Lancaster.

He was ordered to pay £100 compensation to the owner of the door and prosecution costs of £50.

In addition he was ordered to pay a £150 criminal courts charge and a victim surcharge of £20.

The magistrates also fined him £100 for the charge of failing to surrender into custody at the court three weeks after being granted bail.
