He will be remanded in custody in the meantime.

Police said the elderly victim was attacked and robbed at his home in the Lytham Road area of Preston at around 1.30pm on Saturday, when it is alleged a man approached the address demanding money for work done to the property.

After the homeowner refused, he was attacked and robbed.

He was left with a serious injury to his right arm, as well as a swelling to his right hand.
