Man (56) quizzed by police on AK47 rifle claims

A 56-year-old man has been questioned and bailed by police after a taxi driver was allegedly threatened with an AK47 rifle .

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence. He was bailed until December 11th.

The incident is reported to have taken place in the early hours of Monday after the man was taken from Burnley to Colne by taxi.

The man was dropped off at a property in the Barrowford Road area, refused to pay and returned from a property with the rifle it is claimed.

Police officers were called to the scene and a decommissioned weapon was confiscated.
