A teenager from Preston has been told to pay Lord Sugar £100 for abuse on Twitter.
The 17-year-old appeared in court, charged with sending the entrepreneur and star of The Apprentice an offensive tweet.
Essex Police said the boy, from Preston, pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday and was sentenced to an eight month referral to a youth offender panel, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
He was also ordered to pay Lord Sugar £100 compensation.
In a series of tweets, Lord Sugar thanked Essex Police for “tracking him down”.
