A car on the run from police in Scotland fled down the M6 before being stopped by officers in Lancashire.

They said officers had used "TPAC" - or tactical pursuit and containment - tactics to bring the chase to an end.

Police brought the pursuit of this Audi to an end on the M6 near Preston

TPAC measures available to trained officers include boxing in a vehicle if the driver refuses to stop and using a stinger to deflate the tyres and end the pursuit.
